Handling Human Error
نویسندگان
چکیده
Human-machine systems have become more and more risky and tightly coupled. Component failures can result in unacceptable disasters that not only affect workers and plants, but also neighbours and the environment. System Reliability Analysis has made noticeable progress in assessing technical component reliability, but the introduction of Human Reliability Analysis is more of difficult task. This chapter attempts to define human error that should not be necessarily attributed to incompetence, but is considered as a product of conflicts between the human and the physical or the social artefact. An overview of studies on human error commission, detection and recovery is presented from which lessons are drawn and guidelines are provided for the design of operator support.

Mobile Robot Navigation Error Handling Using an Extended Kalman Filter
Obviously navigation is one of the most complicated issues in mobile robots. Intelligent algorithms are often used for error handling in robot navigation. This Paper deals with the problem of Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) error handling by using Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) as an Expert Algorithms. Our focus is put on the field of mobile robot navigation in the 2D environments. The main chall...

متن کاملIdentification and assessment of Human Error in Cabin Roofed Crane Using SHERPA and SPAR-H Techniques
Introduction: Human errors play a significant role in the occurrence of industrial accidents. This study aims to investigate the human errors in cabin roof crane operators of a metal industry using SHERPA and SPAR-H techniques. Material and Method: In this research, first, all of the tasks of the tower crane operator were identified and analyzed. Then, adopting SHERPA technique, p...
متن کاملA Simulation Model of a Human as a Material Handling Task Performer with a Colored Petri Net Model
In this paper, a framework for a simulation approach to develop a formal representation of control and analysis of human-involved computer integrated manufacturing systems (Hi-CIM) is presented. Important properties of a human material handler within manufacturing systems are discussed and human tasks and errors are identified to build a simulation model. Based on the number of locations where ...
متن کاملQuestioning Human Error Probabilities in Railways
Human errors are regarded as one of the main causes for railway accidents these days. In spite of this fact, the consideration of human error probabilities in quantified risk analyses has been very rudimentary up to now. A lack of comprehensive data and analyses in literature lead to the use of estimations and values from other industries. This paper discusses the transferability of human error...
متن کاملTowards a taxonomy of error-handling strategies in recognition-based multi-modal human-computer interfaces
In this paper, we survey the different types of error-handling strategies that have been described in the literature on recognition-based human–computer interfaces. A wide range of strategies can be found in spoken human–machine dialogues, handwriting systems, and multi-modal natural interfaces. We then propose a taxonomy for classifying errorhandling strategies that has the following three dim...
